I started at FHSU in the Spring semester of 2023. I actually started in Computer Science. But after a shortime, I realized Computer Science was not for me. Plus at my age, I didn't feel like starting over the bottom and trying to work my way back up! So i spoke with my advisor and changed my major to Computer Networking and Telecommunications. Introduction to Web Development is my first course in the department.
My goals for the future are, of course, get my Bachelor's degree from Fort Hays State University. Right now I'm working as a cybersecurity analyst for the U.S. Army. I'd like to move into a new position as a Network Security Engineer or into my supervisors role as ISSM. Information System Security Manager.
A couple of things I'm looking forward to learning here in the informatics department is Linux and the CISCO prep part of the course. I've been wanting to get my CCNA for sometime, but never had the time to do it on my own. Now I don't have any excuses!
